Four more days. Just four more days. 26th November comes back to our lives. From The horror that Mumbai encountered a year back it really has been a remarkable recovery the city has made. Mumbai....the city that never sleeps. Yes, the Mumbai which belongs to us Indians and not to any maniac leader who claims that it's only for Marathi's. Well unfortunately for Mr. Leader the whole of
Now we a perfect 24x7 border surveillance across the country and we are safe. Nothing is happening anymore....we’ve had Lok Sabha Polls, Champions League T20 and so much more. And then suddenly it’s mid-November. The candles are getting ready, everyone’s got those prayers rehearsed and the martyrs are reminded once again. Suddenly everyone knows when and where the first bullet was fired and all other minor details. Slowly but rather heavily....26th November arrives....and the day rushes by....the whole country is in mourning. Average tear fall is at an all time high and once again
Sadly, what is does forget to remind is its incompetence. The police still roam about with 303’s and the Naxalite’s have better equipment than them. I mean no offence but we did hear about some commando training centres.....did we??? Stop it man......you’re asking questions. Politicians don’t like questions ....leave them alone....let them work. These guys have just experienced a landslide victory in the polls. It was the public who gave their verdict. Are you asking questions about the judgment of the people? Hell no, wouldn’t dare to do it. But as a citizen of
Someone shouts at me, “Fool, look around you, security is so tight ...nothings happened after that fateful night. We are safe.” Yeah.....at last we are safe....Hell no, when are we going to stop fucking pretend that we are not. When are all these false promises going to stop, when are all these ‘jihad’s’ going to stop, when is all this turmoil going to end...???? A dark silence follows this question....no answers......or is it....wait I can see someone....he’s clad prominently in white....Yes, just as I presumed....another politician. More condolences, more promises.....after all the security measures he described I’m feeling safe after all. God, these people are damn convincing. So again we kick start our mornings and keep our fingers crossed that 26/11 never comes back in any of our lives. We hope against hope and we craft a dream out of our nightmares and we move on. After all we are very brave people....we heal our scars quickly. Everything is up and running again. We will remember our heroes...we will honor them.....we will shed our tears for the fallen....and we will fight on against this terror. Every year from now we shall keep on doing it.....until another such day arrives....another city....another set of names on the heroes’ column....another reason to mourn. So I wait. India wait’s.

great write-up!! I totally agrre with u..n to add to it,
it needs no mention that 26/11 was one of the worst terrorist attack India, rather the whole world, had witnessed. One year has almost gone, we have learned to move on...to move on with time, with the pace of life...shedding off all the fears of terrorism that engulfed Mumbai that day...forgetting the cries of those panic-stricken people who found themselves stuck in their rooms with a pool of blood outside and gunshots and grenades echoing all around, the people who quite unfortunately found themselves victim of the terrorism loosing their lives irrespective of caste and creed, the police, the NSG commandos who dared to fight the terrorists out and rescue the city at the cost of their own lives, the politicians, who might be for the first time, gave lectures on how to cope with the situation rather than blaming each other ...and many many memories that should have shattered the dream of living our so-called peaceful mundane life...!!...But, no, we moved on, and we will move on,such act of terrorism will never end, but we have to stand hand in hand and fight against terrorism, knowing that heroic policemen like Hemant Karkare, NSG commandos like Sandeep Unnikrishnan are always besides us...We must pay a tribute to their bravery and let their sacrifices not go in vein...!!
True....somewhere down the line we realize that we are citizens of a country that gave birth to names like Hemant Karkare and Sandeep Unnikrishnan....lets for once ignore how the politicians are ruining our country, ignore all the hardships we face in our daily lives and feel proud to be an Indian.....these are the men who set the benchmark....let's honor them and respect their martyrdom...
A different writing.Really good....and I cant stop my pen....
Another 26th November but its 2009…1 year passed the massacre of 2008….another normal day when me get up morning..brush up..get ready for office/college/school….back to home…..take dinner…..go to sleep….but something lies between the day 26th November…some feelings of horror….
We are citizen of our independent country..so why do u feel such kind of horror in our daily life? What’s our fault? What’s d fault of those child who have lost their parents ….or what’s the fault of the mother whose lap is empty in order to give food to the mouth of terrorism… the pride of the capital went in vain in one merciless attack …no answer is there….no political leader can give the answer…..Everyone tries to keep gun in others shoulder….All are busy with the small self-interest…..
Problem in today’s world is people are very much self-centered….Never think of the person beside him……Actually we all learn to live for ownself……But we can only live our life in real terms we must learn to live for others….….Unity can make us strong ”Unite we stand. Divide we fall”. If we live in hand in hand… Then we will see who the hell terrorist will attack further…..
Exception is the soldiers of our country. They gave their blood how easily in order to keep us safe…..Salute to those soldiers who never think for himself or his family but always for ther people of this nation…..We should follow their ideals to make us better human being.
